Desalinated water for Adelaide in ealy 2011

South Australia Minister for Water Paul Caica announced yesterday that the Adelaide Desalination Plant is expected to start producing drinking water in early 2011, four months later than the previous target of December 2010.

Mr Caica said he has been advised by the desalination project team that early indications are for the first drop of water to be produced from the plant in April next year.
Abigroup to work on Barwon Water project

Abigroup has secured a contract worth $30 million for the new Barwon Water project.

The project, due to commence in late September, will see Abigroup deliver works including the construction of a 16 giga litres per year pump station and a 59km pipeline, which will be operational by late November 2011.
Busway ahead of schedule

The Queensland Government is anticipating early completion of a major infrastructure project.
 
Work on the $465 million Eastern Busway (stage 2) is three months ahead of schedule with the project due for completion late next year instead of early 2012.
Skycity to invest $250m in Adelaide casino

Skycity Entertainment Group is currently negotiating with the South Australian Government to invest up to $250 million in expanding and enhancing its Adelaide casino and hospitality facilities.

The project would be in line with the State Government’s vision for the transformation of the Adelaide Riverfront into an entertainment precinct and support other developments, including the Adelaide Convention Centre and Adelaide Oval redevelopment.
